India vs Bangladesh Highlights, World Cup 2022

India beat Bangladesh by five runs in a rain-cured T20 World Cup match on Wednesday.

Virat Kohli and K L Rahul scored sturdy fifties to power India to 184/6. The under-performing Rahul returned to form with a 30-ball 50 before Kohli took control of the inning with an unbeaten 51 off 38 deliveries. Hassan Mahmud (3/47) was the pick of the bowler for Bangladesh. Defending a revised target of 151 in 16 overs after brief rainfall interrupting play, India restricted Bangladesh to 146/5*. Liton Das is top-scored for Bangladesh with a 28 ball 60*. Arshdeep Singh picked up 2 wickets for India.

Shakib Al Hasan won the toss for Bangladesh, who elected to bowl first against India.

Batting India

1st Over India:

Rahul and Rohit are busy fielding. Currently, Rahul is batting while Rohit is keeping wickets. Taskin Ahmed has opened the attack. KL Rahul scores a single off the first ball he faces from Taskin Ahmed.

2nd Over India

KL Rahul picks up the ball from his pad and hits it hard over deep square for a six. That eased some of my worries. Score after two overs, IND: 10/0

3rd & 4th Over India:

Hasan Mahmud picked up his second wicket by dismissing Rohit Sharma, who was out stumped for 10 runs in the third over of India’s innings.

5th to 8th Over India:

Four! Poor shot by Shakib, and Rahul made no mistake, hitting it short in length and past wide mid for a four. Rahul is batting well so far. Ten from the over, India scored fifty runs after eight overs.

9th Over India:

Shoriful Islam is at the receiving end of KL Rahul’s bowling attack – as he strikes 3 sixes along with a four before the completion of an over. Commentators note how switched on he seems, adding 24 runs for India in total before ending his innings on 48 from just 30 balls played – after 9 completed overs.

10th Over India:

KL Rahul brings up his 50th T20I in the 18th over, but Shakib Al Hasan breaks it out of nowhere with a wicket in the next over. Virat Kohli remains unbeaten on 23 off 18 balls as India seeks to obliterate Bangladesh’s confidence by posting a huge total.

11th Over India:

Mustafizur drops the catch, and Suryakumar Yadav proceeds to steal two more runs. With this, India reaches 101/2 at the end of 12 overs. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are continuing to dominate for India.

13th Over India:

Suryakumar Yadav steps up and smashes Hasan Mahmud for 2 consecutive 4s! He’s not done yet. Finding another 4 to end the over. He scores 14 off this powerful 5-over spell of bowling with 2 maidens – a wicketless over too! After 13 overs at the time of writing, India is 115/2

14th Over India:

Shakib bowled! Taking the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav, who made 30 runs off just 16 balls. With this, he has taken 4 wickets, 3 of them in consecutive deliveries. Score after 14 overs; IND: 119/3

15th Over India:

Virat Kohli scored two consecutive fours off the Bangladeshi bowler Mustafizur. The first one was an uncalculated swing of his bat. The second one, however, proved to be much more calculated as he moved sideways and hit it out of bounds over the mid-on region for four runs.

16th Over India:

The short delivery could’ve gone anywhere but landed straight for the fielder’s grip. Hasan picked up his second wicket. The tactic of bowling short to Hardik Pandya has worked. Remember- pace bowlers have bowled 65.2% of deliveries while pitching to him on the back of a length/short. India is losing its wickets quickly, but Virat Kohli is well set on 44.

FIFTY for Kohli:

This is his third 50 in this year’s T20 World Cup! A phenomenal batting performance from one of the world’s most talented players. Virat Kohli has averaged over 200 in the World Cup so far.

17th Over India:

Dinesh Karthik (DK) has been dismissed for 7 runs. He hit a wide full toss which Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSD) slapped straight to extra cover, where it went high and fast; DK ran after it, but MSD sent him back too late; he was caught out of his ground well short of the crease.

18th Over India:

Axar Patel chipped the ball into the cover territory, where Shakib ran backward to take a good catch. He had another one soon after, and now India was slowly losing their momentum – they needed something special before this innings died away completely!

19th Over India:

After hitting a six, Kohli reaches the much-needed boundary and brings up 170 for India! That was an incredible shot; he went down the wicket and cleared the man at long-on. Score after 19 overs, IND: 170/6

20th Over India:

In the end, Ashwin and Kohli’s late charge helped India make 24 runs from the last 8 balls of their inning. With 184/6 in 20 overs.

Bangladesh Batting:

1st Over Bangladesh:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar heads up India’s bowling attack, following a 185-run target set by Bangladesh. Linton Das and Shanto are batting in the top order.

2nd & 3rd Over Bangladesh:

Arshdeep started the over well. Three boundaries away from where he began, Linton Das edged the fourth delivery of the over but did not carry to DK’s gloves.

4th & 5th Over Bangladesh:

Direct-hit, but Litton Das gives a thumbs up to Shanto from his ground position. Kohli says it is out. The dive saves Das!

6th & 7th Over Bangladesh:

Litton Das smashes Shami for a six, bringing his score to fifty. He continues to dominate the Indian bowlers as they fail to defend themselves against him.

India vs Bangladesh Highlights: Rain interrupts:

Bad news from the middle as the rain interrupts proceedings and forces both teams off. The players are going off, and the covers are coming on. India will now regroup and consider combating this threateningly good Bangladesh innings. The Tigers are now 17 runs ahead of the DLS par score for another 20-over game. BAN 66/0 after 7 overs.

India vs Bangladesh Highlights: Happy news:

The Indian cricket team stands near the dugout. If they resume play, this game will not last for twenty overs. The rain has ceased; however, umpires are walking to inspect the pitch conditions before taking off the covers.

Shortened of Runs & Overs:

In the most recent update, it was announced that The Bangladesh innings had been shortened to 16 overs target for Bangladesh is 151. They need 85 more runs from 54 deliveries if they want a chance at beating India.

 8th-9th-10th Over Bangladesh:

Litton Das ran out of his first ball after the break while completing just one run. In an attempt to continue batting, he was reluctant, but Shanto insisted. Rahul hit a perfectly good shot to give India its first wicket down for 2 runs.

11th Over Bangladesh:

Shakib Al Hasan bats confidently and strikes a four off Ashwin’s bowling. Keeper Dinesh Karthik yells at him to bowl fuller to make the batsman hit it outside the field. Shakib gets 11 runs from this over. Bangladesh’s score after 11 overs is 99/2.

12th Over Bangladesh:

Arshdeep Singh traps Afif Hossain on the first ball of the over and then picks up the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan on the fifth delivery of the same over. This over could be game-changing! Bangladesh scored after twelve overs, 101/4.

13th Over Bangladesh

Pandya could not stay out of the game. He also picked up two in an over, but Yasir Ali and Mosaddek Hossain were out at the back of the dugout. Bangladesh has lost 4/9 in 11 balls so far; how fast this game changes! However, we do need to give credit where it’s due – India did well for staying focused and finishing off every player. So after thirteen overs, BAN scored: 108/6

14th Over Bangladesh:

Taskin Ahmed wasn’t finished just yet and slammed a four and six from Hardik Pandya. 21 runs left off nine balls, but it was far from over.

15th & 16th Over Bangladesh:

Nurul Hasan strikes his maximum and then smashes a four! Now it is only 7 off from victory, but Arshdeep Singh faces some pressure. However, he hits an amazing shot to seal the tie – the skin of their teeth saves India! It was inspiring to watch them return after the rain stoppage; they will take great confidence from now on with this comeback victory.

Conclusion:

Immediately after the rain shower ended and play resumed, Bangladesh began to lose ground. After scoring 68/0 in the first innings – and when it seemed like they were about to make a huge comeback – they collapsed miserably. Six wickets down for 40 runs- if this doesn’t end soon, India will win this game! Suddenly out of nowhere came two unexpected heroes- Nurul Hasan, who remained unbeaten on 25 from 14 deliveries. At the same time, Taskin Ahmed scored 12* from 7 deliveries bringing victory much closer than what had seemed impossible before.

This victory has given India more chances to make it into the semi-finals. They are ranked at the top of Group 2 with a favorable NRR of +0.730 and will face off against Zimbabwe for their last game in the Super12s on November 6th in Melbourne.
